According to the death notice in the May 11, 1918, edition of the Boston Globe, services for Edith took place at her parents residence at 52 Winthrop St, West Newton, on May 13, at 3:15 pm.
On June 29, 1916, Alice Jean Dorchester and Dr/Rev Harry Albert Hanson were married in Southborough, Massachusetts. He was an ordained minister with the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Dr/Rev. Harry and Alice Jean Hanson moved in 1916 or so to India, where Dr Hanson became a professor of economics and later president at Lucknow Christian College, while being missionaries as well. They lived in India for about 33 years until he retired.

Mark Chester Louis Hanson, born on May 24, 1918, in Mussoorie, India; and died on September 12, 2008, in Marion County, Oregon. His wife was Barbara Louise Hanson nee Sjordal, born September 11, 1918, in Ada, Minnesota, and died on February 10, 2001, in Marion County, Oregon. They were married on December 18, 1967, in Orange County, Caliifornia. They had five daughters and two sons (possibly from a prior marriage).
Robert Murray Hanson, born on February 4, 1920; died on February 3, 1944, in World War II. Posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Stanley George Hanson born on June 5, 1924, in Newton, Massachusetts; and died on February 14, 2002, Ramsey County, Minnesota. He was survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, and grandchild.
Earl Dorchester Hanson, born February 15, 1927, in Lodhipur, District Shahjahanpur, India; died October 26, 1993, in Middletown, Connecticut. He was a professor of biology at Wesleyan University, Middletown. He was survived by three children.

Rev. Harry Hanson died on February 6, 1971, in Haddam, Connecticut. He was survived by his wife Mrs. [Alice] Jean Dorchester Hanson; three sons: Mark C.L. Hanson of Wayzata, Minnesota; Stanley G. Hanson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Earl D. Hanson of Haddam, Connecticut; and a daughter of Tokyo, Japan. He was also survived by a brother Elm J. Hansen of Norwalk, California; and nine grandchildren. His son Robert Murray Hanson, predeceased him in 1944. The funeral was held on February 10, 1971, at the First United Methodist Church, Middleton. Burial was at Newton Cemetery, Newton Center, Massachusetts.
