Jacob C. Prough, 64, of 407 Third Street, Kalkaska, died Sunday morning, August 29, 1976, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. Mr. Prough was born in Kalkaska County on May 3, 1912, son of the late Floyd and Nora Smith Prough. He lived in the Kalkaska area until 1930, when he moved to Ossian, Indiana. He returned to Kalkaska in 1960. Surviving are one brother, Charles Prough of Kalkaska; 2 sisters, Mrs. Hattie Banninger of Kalkaska, and Mrs. Ella Webb of South Boardman, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 1976, at the Schwartz-Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. L.W. Crippen officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
