at St. Paul's (Wolf's) United Church of Christ. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert F. Koller Funeral Home Inc., 2000 W. Market St., York, and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Gross was born in York. She was the daughter of the late Howard D. and Katie E. (Smith) Ness.
She had retired from Danskin Inc., after 10 years of service. Previously, she was head cook at Lincoln Way Elementary School for 10 years and was a cook with Continental Catering Co. for several years.
A member of St. Paul's (Wolf's) United Church of Christ, she was a charter member of Lincolnway Fire Company Auxiliary. She belonged to York County Society of Farm Women Group 13 and of the Thomasville Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Gross also is survived by two daughters, Alice F. Klinedinst and Joan M. Spangler, both of Dover; a son, Fred E. Gross of York; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Schrum of York; and two brothers, George Ness and Howard Ness, both of York.
Officiating at the service will be her pastors, the Rev. H. Richard McClain and the Rev. Alton M. Leister.
