James Murl Adair passed away February 5, 2022, at Beacon Memorial Hospital with his loved ones by his side. He bravely fought Guillain-Barre, serious injuries from an auto accident, Parkinson's and Covid during his life span. Jim was born February 26, 1940, in Kokomo, Indiana to Murl Alexander and Vera Shufflebotham Adair.

His dad moved the family to South Bend to work at Bendix during World War II. Jim had a calm quiet manner, with eyes that revealed an active, inquisitive, and thoughtful mind. In 1958 Jim graduated from Central High School having attended Kaley Elementary School. After high school, Jim joined the U.S. Navy serving four years. He served on the U.S. Midway (Flight carrier) testing and repairing radar on the airplanes. After the Navy he was employed by Bendix, Allied, Allied Signal and Bosch before finally retiring in March 2000 as a laboratory technician of brakes on medium size trucks and school buses. Jim enjoyed working on cars, as well as anything technical, or that had a motor. He built his own Heath-kit television, radio, speakers, metronome and could fix virtually anything.

Jim married Sue Ann Slonaker on May 12, 1979, in Plymouth, Indiana. It was a loving union that would last until the day he died, forty-two and a half years later. He was a member of the Clay-Granger Lions Club and attended Forestbrook Missionary Church.
