Dan was born on August 7, 1963, in Two Rivers, son of the late Bernard and Delores (Groothoff) Copus. Daniel met the love of his life, Ann M. Burns, on September 24, 1985. He worked at various factory jobs and had to retire from work early in life due to medical issues. Dan enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, listening to rock and roll music and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids who meant the world to him. He liked planting flowers and going to the casino to play slot machines.
Survivors include his fiancée of 37 years: Ann Burns, Two Rivers; two daughters: Jessica (Justin) Olson, Denmark; Theresa Copus (Tyler Staab), Two Rivers; one son: Francis Copus (Aylssa Schultz), Manitowoc; ten grandchildren: Caidan, Octavia, Ethan, Savannah, Abbigail, Maddison, Kaitlyn, Zayden, Kaison, Shaelyn; five sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friend: Ben Franco and family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Bernard and Delores Copus, one infant son: Tyler Copus, two brothers: Bernard "Jimmy" Copus, Francis Copus; two sisters: Lois Copus, Bonnie Junk; aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
