He lived in this area all his life. He attended school at Lula. He worked for the railroad as a butcher and a building contractor. He was the Coal County Commissioner of District 1, from 1964 until his retirement in 1981. He was a rancher.
He married Dollie Horton, June 19, 1937, at Lula. She died March 1, 1992, at Tupelo.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte J. Angel, of the home; and a sister, Anna Bell Ingram, Tupelo.
Bearers are John Lyons, Russell Whitfield Faulk, Jim Smith, and Dub Rush.
Honorary bearers are Dub Echols, Bob Hyatt, Ura Horton and D. E. Romines.
