Joyce LaRue Ancarrow, 84, of Hagerstown, died on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Born January 12, 1937 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Leslie Ancarrow and the late Helen Irene (Eiker) Weinarsky.

Joyce was a resident of The Arc of Washington County, Inc. She believed in God, and prayed daily. She loved her family very much, and spoke almost daily about her brother and cousins. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She also enjoyed her birthday, and loved collecting photos of people, especially her caregivers' children. She enjoyed coloring intricate adult coloring books, and putting puzzles together. She had a love for animals, especially cats, and loved watching her fish in their tank. She loved watching game shows in the evening. Joyce was very smart, headstrong, loving, and so very kind. She could brighten anyone's day with her smile and an extended hand. She had a beautiful soul, and always wanted to share her joy.

Surviving are her brother, Clarence L. "Mac" Ancarrow and wife Marsha of Hagerstown; half-sister, Helen Mulhbaier of Woodbury, NJ; and several cousins. She is also survived by her Arc family of friends, Shellie, Jammy, Pamela, Shay, Selina, Amy, Janet, Melanie, Jennifer, and many others from The Arc who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by step-father, Peter Weinarsky; half-sister, Linda Weinarsky; and sister-in-law, Susan Ancarrow. Joyce will be missed, and never forgotten, by all who knew her.
