He was the son of the late Fowler and Willie Belle McCrary Lowe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kirk Lowe.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gum Lowe; sons and daughters-in-law Barry and Carol Lowe of the Big Springs community; brothers Fred Lowe of the Donnell Chapel community, Wayne Lowe of Murfreesboro; sisters Mrs. Mary Della Bowman, Mrs. Clarence (Marie) Duggin and Mrs. Edmond (Dorothy) Gibson of Murfreesboro, all of Murfreesboro; and grandchildren Brian Lowe, Austin Lowe and Lindsey Lowe, all of the Big Springs community.
A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he worked as a furniture salesman for Sterchi's and Heilig Meyers for 35 years before retiring to his farm on New Hope Road in 1994. He attended New Hope Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
