Funeral services for Bruce Tubbs, 61, operator of Pomeroy furniture store, will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City, The Rev. Eugene Shipley, pastor of Lake City Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery, with military rites at the graveside.

Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral chapel on Saturday at 8p.m.

Mr. Tubbs died of a heart attack Thursday night at Stewart Memorial Hospital, Lake City, where he had been a patient since Monday.

He was born and reared at Lake City and was graduated from Lake City High School in 1921. In 1950 he married Mrs. Gertrude Buttrick Bethel at Storm Lake. Mr. Tubbs operated a furniture store in Lake City before going to Pomeroy 10 years ago. He was also an expert woodworker.

He was a veteran of World War II and had served with the Navy in the South Pacific. He belonged to the Lake City Baptist Church, the Pomeroy Masonic Lodge, Pomeroy Amvets and American Legion.

Surviving are his wife; one step-son, Marvin Fergason Jr., of Pueblo, Colo.; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph Hobart of Rockwell City.
