Marilyn Joan "Johnnie" Saurage Daigle. A homemaker and a resident of Plaquemine, she died at 4:30 PM, Friday, February 12, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 69 and a native of White Castle. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, 5PM to 8PM Sunday and 8AM Monday. Rite of Christian Burial at the funeral home at 9:30 AM, Monday, conducted by Rev. Michael Jung. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum. Survived by her husband, Herman P. Daigle, Plaquemine. Two daughters: Melane Daigle, Plaquemine, and Sherrill Daigle Carlin and husband Marc M. Carlin, Sr., Walker, Louisiana; a son Stephen Craig Daigle, Sr., and wife, Edith B. Daigle, Plaquemine. A sister, Grace Saurage Brown, White Castle. Six grandchildren: Karla M. Lennie, Plaquemine; Marc M. Carlin, Jr., Walker; Stephanie C. Barnett, Holden, La., Stephen C. Daigle, Jr.; Jeremy J. Daigle; and Joan Marie Daigle, all of Plaquemine. Six great-grandchildren: Jamie Allyn Ragsdale, Plaquemine; Lane Richard Carlin, Hannah Ayres Carlin, and Katie Lynn Carlin, all of Walker; and William Sidney Barnett and Taylor Joseph Barnett, both of Holden. Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Grayce Hebert Saurage, and two brothers, Clarence, Jr., and Donald Saurage. Margarite died in France before Caientano came to Louisiana.2. Nicholas Saurage (2), was born in Marselles, France and died at age 57 in St. James Parish, where he and Marie are buried.. He married Marie Tircuit 5/06/1802. (Marie Tircuit was daughter of Francisco Tircuit and Barbie Bourgeois)3. Francois Saurage (3), was born in St. James Parish, and married Marie Eleanor (Lenore) Mayer. (Marie Eleanor was daughter of Charles Mayer and Marie Louise Edelmeier.)4. Norbert Charles Saurage, b. St. Gabriel, m. Julia Ann Clara Roth.5. Charles Norbert Saurage, m. Lelia Dupuy. (Lelia Dupuy was daughter of Thelerphore Dupuy and Florestine Babin.)6. Clarence Sidney Saurage, b. 11/30/1896, d. 1972, White Castle, Louisiana. He married Grayce (Grace) M. Hebert, b. 11/21/1906, Iberville Parish, d. 12/24/1933, White Castle, La. Clarence and his wife Grayce are buried in White Castle. (Grace Hebert was daughter of Lawrence Hebert and Angelle Roth. Lawrence Hebert was son of Alexander Hebert and Clarise Roth. Alexander Hebert was son of Robert Hebert.)7. Marilyn Joan Saurage, b. 12/20/1930, White Castle, d. February 1999 in Baton Rouge, La., married Herman Pierre Daigle, 01/25/1948, White Castle, La. Note: Joan Marilyn Saurage was born on December 20, 1930, in White Castle, La. She died on February 12, 1999 at the age of 69 in Baton Rouge, La., and is interred in Grace Memorial Cemetery, Plaquemine, La. Upon her application for social security, Joan discovered that the name on her birth certificate was Marilyn Joan Saurage.
