Tommie Stewart Laney

Mr. Tommie Stewart Laney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 19, 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Meran Terrell Laney; his children, Judy Sewell and her husband, Tommy; Janice Craddock and her husband, Spooky; and Gail Craddock and her husband, Billy; grandchildren, Chris Sewell, Shelley Harrison and husband, Glenn; Craig Craddock and wife, Michelle; Laura Hill and husband, Rex; Diana Cowan and husband, Jon; Amy Ellis and husband, Lautt; and Matt Craddock and wife, Amie; 14 grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Phillips, and many nieces and nephews.

Stewart was a faithful member and deacon of The Rock Baptist Church. He worked for Delta Air Lines for 37 years. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 3 p.m., at The Rock Baptist Church, with Dr. Bill Dempsey officiating. Interment will be at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Remains will be placed in state at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 21, , 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Ford-Stewart Funeral Home
