ELIZABETHTON – Gladys Henegar, age 83, formerly of 300 Brown Road, Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at Life Care Center Elizabethton following a brief illness. A native of Roan Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Lilly Adams Barnett. She was a member of Sims Hill Christian Church and a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Earl Henegar; and one brother, John Barnett. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Norma Henegar, Elizabethton; two granddaughters, Karen Henegar, Elizabethton, Amy and spouse, Donnie West, Elizabethton; two great grandchildren, Cody Roberts, Elizabethton, Maci West, Elizabethton; three sisters, Hazel Dyer, Roan Mountain, Marie Mayfield, Orlando, FL, Katheleen Hurt, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace, with Mr. Rocky Mains and Mr. Bret Jones, Ministers, officiating. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Cody Roberts, Buddy Henegar, Tony Berry, Stewart Dyer, Steve Dyer, Mike Dyer, Mack Henry and Dennis Guinn. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherill Dyer and Eddie Ford.
