Our beloved Armontae Jaylin (Greysmith) Smith, 34, of Tacoma, Washington passed away on the evening of February 19, 2022. Armontae was born on March 23, 1987 to Carl Smith and Tammy Taylor and raised with the love and support of his stepfather, Phillip Brown. He was a beloved son, brother, and role-model for both his family and the community at large and dedicated the entirety of his adult life toward the progression of truth, justice and social equity.

As a student at the University of Washington, Armontae challenged the status quo and triple majored, receiving dual degrees in the fields of Political Science and Psychology before going on to carry out his career as a Legal Administrative Specialist and Diversion Coordinator for the King County Districts Court's Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Seattle. Before passing away, Armontae was working towards two Master's Degrees at the University of Colorado Denver where he also worked raising charitable donations from university alumni.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Joseph and Merlina "Marilee (Bongalon) Brown. His maternal grandmother, Judith Ann "Judy" Thompson. His great-grandmother Dorothy Lydia Campbell.

He is survived by his parents and siblings, Jaylund, Lauren, Anthony and Whitney. His grandfather David Taylor and wife Theresa, his aunt Tracy. A host of loving cousins, other aunts and uncles, friends, co-workers.
