Edward J. Beard, 43, of Boca Raton, Fla., a former Johnstown resident, died unexpectedly yesterday at Boca Raton, where he had resided for the last six years.
Born in Ephratah, March 7, 1921, the son of Albert J. and Jeanette Thompson Beard, he was married to the former Geraldyne Musgrave on Jan. 3, 1942. Mr. Beard at one time the Fair Acres Farm near Mayfield, and also was formerly associated with Korkay, Inc., of Johnstown. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton, the Elks Lodge, also of that city, and the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Survivors besides his wife are two sons, Richard Beard of Boca Raton, and Edward J. Beard Jr., serving with the Air Force on Okinawa; a daughter, Miss Susan Beard of Boca Raton; his mother, Mrs. Albert Beard of Johnstown, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Heague of Johnstown, and Mrs. Marion Alric of Gloversville.
