Opelousas - Visitation for Leola (Tootsie) Mae Stewart Boone on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leola (Tootsie) Mae Stewart Boone, age 76, of Opelousas, La., who passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Leola was an awesome mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She loved family gatherings. She especially enjoyed baking and cooking for them. Leola loved watching movies with her grandchildren, playing the slot machines and scratch off tickets. She never knew a stranger and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Brandon Boone of Crowley, La., (Joey) Hilden J. Boone, Jr. and partner, Marita Comeaux, of Opelousas, La., Ronald Boone and wife, Diana, of Tyler, Texas and Waven Boone of Ville Platte, La.; her daughters, Melissa (Missy) Labbe and husband, Scott, of Opelousas, La. and Monique Poulet and husband, Tommy, of Port Barre, La.; her brothers, Robert Stewart, Donald Stewart and wife, Peggy and Dale Stewart and her sisters, Yvonne Potier and husband, Wilson, Anne Finn and husband, James and Kathy Martin and husband, David. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony Labbe, Tyler Labbe, Philip (P.J.) Poulet, Jake Poulet, Laila Boone, Ali Boone, Ethan Dale Boone, Ethan Lane Boone, Luke Boone, Harper Boone, Alicia Boone and Amy Scully.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilden Boone, Sr.; her parents, James Stewart and Hilda Stewart Gautreaux and her brothers, Walter Stewart and his wife, Jenny and Ronald Stewart.

The family would love to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Leola's nurses, Rebecca and Kimmie and her nurse's aide, Stephanie. We would also like to send a special thanks to Kathy Stewart Martin, Ronald and Diana Boone and Judy Poulet for all their help and support.
