John Coltrane Jr., the 17-year-old son of the late jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, died when a car in which he was riding ran into a parked car in Canoga Park, authorities said.
Coltrane, apparently tired, had asked a high school friend early Saturday to drive his car as the returned from a friend's house, police said today.
