Reda Lois (Mullins) Moorehead Cornwell of Newport, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the age of 75. She was born April 1, 1946 in Newport, the daughter of Earl and Della Mae (Arter) Mullins.
Mrs. Cornwell was a 1965 graduate of Newport High School. She retired from Newport Public Schools, where she had worked as a cafeteria worker. She later worked as a CNA at Pinedale Nursing Home.
Mrs. Cornwell enjoyed reading, camping, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She had a quiet demeanor, and kept to herself.
Mrs. Cornwell was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmy Gray Moorehead; her second husband, Buck Cornwell; one granddaughter, Jessica Lauren Moorehead; two sisters, Brenda Sue Mullins and Lawanda Mae Cornwell; and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Jack Moorehead and wife, Kelly of Robinson, Illinois; three daughters, Lesia Lamastus of Fayetteville, TeResa Czalski and husband, Joe of Arab, Alabama, and Melanie Story of Newport; two brothers, Albert Mullins and wife, JoAnn of Newport, and Alvin Mullins and wife, Becky, of Gulf Shores, Alabama; two sisters, Faye Whaley and husband, Tom of Newport, and Freda Scoggins and husband, Wayne, of Newport; seventeen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. George Lett officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Saturday 12:30 to service.
