Deloris Jean Emfinger, age 56 of Highlandville, was eternally healed and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 22, 2022. She was born May 30th, 1965 in Columbia, Missouri, the daughter of Duard "Dewey" and Phyllis (Cawthra) Hendrickson. On October 10th, 1987 she and John Wesley Emfinger were married by Pastor Hosea Bilyeu. Deloris was employed by Empire Bank, working in the Nixa area for 20 years. Her ministry was her selfless love for others. Her compassion and attention to detail made all her customers life-long friends. Deloris never met a stranger but if she did, she would soon want to know all about them. She loved her community, her "gym girls", and being a part of the Nixa Community Center. Deloris has been a member of James River Church for 20 years. Her church family has been the foundation to this journey. She enjoyed volunteering in the children's ministry as well as being a part of the congregation. She was no stranger to daily prayer sessions and supporting anyone she could. The daily support that came from her church family was nothing short of miraculous. Deloris (Mimi) had waited her entire life to pour into her grandchildren. She was blessed with 2 grandsons: Colt Wesley and Slade William. She was willing to do anything for her grandchildren and has proven that with her love and compassion. Her gentle spirit and positive attitude made her the perfect Mimi for her whole family. Deloris was the rock of our family and defines a legacy that we pray we can live up to. Her journey was nothing short of divine and every step was meticulously laid out before us. His plan was greater than our own, and Deloris's story demonstrates that to us all. Survivors include her husband John; her son Justin Emfinger and wife Morgan of Doniphan, Missouri; grandchildren, Colt Wesley Emfinger and Slade William Emfinger; brother Jim Hendrickson and wife Stella of Lousiana; sister, Eva Hendrickson of Springfield; nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Monday, February 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Mark Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Glenn Cemetery, Nixa. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 12 noon Monday in the funeral home.
