Hazel Searles Jordan, 83, of Spotsylvania County died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Montgomery and Aurora Searles. Mrs. Jordan was a 1942 graduate of Spotsylvania High School and a member of Lifepoint Church in Spotsylvania.
Survivors include her five children, Carolyn Galyen Lampert and her husband, Steve, of Spotsylvania, Sandra Galyen Clift and her husband, Raymond, of Fredericksburg, Linda Bartlett Carden and her husband, Bill, Cliff Galyen Jr. and his wife, Vicki, and Victor A. Jordan and his wife, Glenda, all of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Phyllis Southworth and Isabel Carneal, both of Spotsylvania; one brother, Lee Roy Searles of Spotsylvania; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Spotswood Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Jett, Ralph Sellers Jr., Frank D. Haynes Jr. and Eddie Haynes, all members of the singing group, Sonrise; and grandsons, David J. Bartlett Jr. and Christopher Clift.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
