Margaret Arlene Ainsworth, 75, of Gould Ave, died July 4, 2007, at Lakes Region General Hospital, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in North Conway on Aug. 24, 1932, she was the daughter of Stanley and Arlene [Thombs] Currie.

She grew up in Bartlett. She graduated from Bartlett High School and from Grays Business College, in Portland, Maine. She has been a resident of Meredith since the early 1960s.

She worked as a waitress for Hart's Turkey Farm, now Hart's Restaurant, in Meredith for many years. She also volunteered and worked for the Community Action Program as a Senior Companion for many years.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Meredith and was a member of the Meredith Bowling League.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles G.C. Ainsworth, who died in September of 1992, and her sister Joyce Ainsworth.

She is survived by four children, Steven C. Ainsworth of Meredith, Brian L. Ainsworth of Meredith, Bette J. Muise of Meredith, and Michael S. Ainsworth of Jefferson City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, one great grandson; a brother, Clarence Currie of Bridgton, Maine; and nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in the First Congregational Church of Meredith on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Russell Rowland, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held in the Bartlett Village Cemetery, Bartlett on Tuesday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Meredith Visiting Nurses Association, Route 25, Meredith, NH 03253. The Mayhew Funeral Home, in Meredith and Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
