Michael was born on July 9, 1954. He was raised in Lafayette, IN by his mother and stepfather, Herman J. Hoskins. He had four brothers.
Michael graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972. He worked at Swift Chemical in Bartow, FL. After returning to Indiana, he was hired by Alcoa of Lafayette in 1977. He retired after 30 years in 2007.
Michael was a man of faith who always loved the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking, driving, antique shops, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gina. Michael and Gina had a phrase of endearment that they spoke to each other, "You are my king. You are my queen. You are my husband. You are my wife. You are my boyfriend. You are my girlfriend. You are my soulmate." For 28 years, they were all these things and more to each other.
Also surviving are one son; four daughters; and many grandchildren.
Christians are the only people who can mourn and rejoice at the same time. Please join us as we rejoice and celebrate the life of Michael Abbott.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM at the chapel with Pastor Zach Rainey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
