Charles E. Deskins, 91 years of age of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Born in Lenore, West Virginia on September 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Edward and Sarah (Evans) Deskins.

A resident of Aurora since 1968, Charles had been employed at Fisher Body in Cleveland, retiring in 1982 after 30 years of service. For many years, Charles also assisted his wife Patsy in the operation of her real estate investment business. An avid sports fan, he coached Little League in Aurora and Streetsboro, as well as coaching girls softball. He was proud to for the time he spent in raising funds for the Hattie Larlham Foundation as a way of caring for others. Additionally, he was a member of the Merchant Marines from 1950-1952, and had been active with Boys Town of America.

While his accomplishments were many, Charles will forever be remembered for the husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather he was, and that family came first. On August 9, 1950, he married Patsy Deskins who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children, Charles R. (Susan) Deskins of Mason, Ohio, David E. (Holly) Deskins of Beavercreek, Ohio, Linda (Michael) Baltes of Nashville, Tenn., and Janet (Robert) Auber of Mantua; sister Bonnie (Jay) Dempsey of Florida; 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. His sister Virginia Tharp preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be Sunday March 6, 2022 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255, from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M., where his funeral service will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Henderson. Final resting place will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, Mantua Twp., Ohio.
