Gary Lee Owens was born to Oscar and Alma Owens on October 21st , 1944 in Holdenville Oklahoma.

The family relocated to Northwest Arkansas where Gary spent his childhood years. After graduating from Springdale High School in 1962 he joined the United States Airforce where he honorably served both in the US and abroad. After serving his country for 4 years Gary went on to work for Schmieding Produce for over 50 years. Gary built a career and life for his family through hard work and dedication often working seven days a week. He brought both his wisdom and wit to work with him where he was incredibly proud to have positively impacted many coworkers and customers.
Gary met the love of his life Carol Owens in Albany Georgia and they had one son Chris.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father Oscar and Alma and his brothers Steve and Phil.

Gary is survived by his wife Carol, his son Chris and his wife Malia, his brother Larry and his wife Barbara. Gary was the proud "Papa" to two beautiful granddaughters Madison and Mackenzie.

Gary was an avid fisherman and was happiest when he was out on the lake or river. A highly skilled fisherman, he loved to take family and friends out and enjoyed helping people learn to fish. He had an amazing sense of humor and brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He touched many lives and was known for his wisdom and loyalty.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 10th at Cross Church in Springdale, 1709 Johnson Road. Please join us for a reception and visitation between 12 noon and 1pm with the funeral to follow.
Private burial services will take place at Bluff Cemetery.
