Clarence E. Gordon, a long time resident of Rock Hill died at his home on Jan. 23, 1953. Born at Hartwood Oct. 29, 1877, the son of John G. and Catherine Anna Decker Gordon. He married Flora Case over 45 years ago. He was a retired carpenter and had been in ill health for a long period of time.

Survivors are two sons, Andrew of Rock Hill and Walter of Hollywood, Fla; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Piper, Wurtsboro; Mrs. Mildred Elliott, Glen Wild; Mrs. Pearl Blenis, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and Florence Gordon, Rock Hill. Also, two sisters, Mrs. Lina Sheridan and Miss Katie Gordon, both of Newark, N.J.

The Rev. Walton Herbert, pastor of the Rock Hill Methodist Church officiated. Body was in repose at the Curley Funeral Home, Monticello.

Burial in Sylvan Cemetery, Wurtsboro.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Cecil Gordon, and several sisters and brothers:
