Plina Ann Speight Thomas, 79, of Jonesboro and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Plina was born in Memphis, Tennessee to James F. and Mary Pritchard Speight. She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of First Baptist Church in Blytheville. She was active in the church and the Walk to Emmaus. Plina was a member of the PEO, the Delta Doves and participated in several missionary trips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gary Thomas; and sister, Mary Etta Bennett.

Plina leaves her children, Steve Richardson and his wife Ami of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Stephanie Cox of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Corban Richardson, Canaan Richardson, Cal Richardson and Carson Cox; brother, James "Jim" Speight and his wife Mary Jane of Blytheville; and sister, Glenda Boyd and her husband Ronnie of Oxford, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10th at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilcoxson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
