Lyle R. Agee, 83, of Maroa died 9:15 p.m. Friday (Oct. 26, 2007) in his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Maroa United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Terry Westerfield officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with 8 p.m. Masonic services. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery. Memorials: Maroa-Forsyth FFA. Mr. Agee was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Maroa, the son of Coy and Arnetta Baylor Agee. He was a lifetime member of Ansar Shrine, Bloomington Consistory, Maroa Masonic Lodge 454 AF & AM and Order of the Eastern Star. He was affiliated with the Maroa United Methodist Church. He farmed all of his life in the Maroa area. He married Hazel R. Horn on May 30, 1948, in Maroa. He is survived by his wife; sons, Ron (Dores) Agee and Terry (Cheryl) Agee, both of Maroa; daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Becker of Argenta; Roberta Hunter of Warrenton, Mo.; brother, Jim Agee of Maroa; sister, Mary (Jim) Leach of Maroa; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, four brothers and three sisters.
