Dr. Zina W. Gilbert, 78, Milton dentist, died Wednesday evening, March 24, in Edgerton Memorial Community Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 28, at 3 p.m. in the Melrose Methodist Church, Melrose, Wis., the Rev. T. Parry Jones, Sheboygan, and Rev. Bruce Willett, Melrose, officiating. Burial was in the Melrose Cemetery with Oliver O'Hearn, Leonard Yeskie, Jacob Renks, Glen Whittet, Thomas Hogg and Lester Sawyer as pallbearers, and Olaf Howard, Clifford Nimmo, Fred Yeskie, C. A. Rydberg and Harry Schewe as honorary pallbearers.

Dr. Gilbert was born in Rock County April 22, 1886, the son of John S. and Emma Oviatt Gilbert. He was a graduate of the old Milton High School and the Marquette University School of Dentistry, receiving his degree in 1911. He practiced in Janesville one year, in Melrose for 47 years and for the past six years in Milton. He was married to Bessie Cary in Jefferson, June 20, 1912.

He was a member of the Milton Methodist Church, a Charter and Lifetime member of the Melrose Rotary Club, and had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 58 years.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. John B. Mallon of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Melvin Yeskie of Melrose; one son, Jack of Glenville, Ill., and four grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
