March 10, 2022, the precious soul of Ruth Ann Ayers Bailey finished her journey here to join our Lord and Savior. She truly fought the fight, and finished her course; hearing well done thou good and faithful servant. Born on December 3, 1933 in West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Susan Ayers.

In addition to her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Hersell Bailey; children, Alma Sue Bailey(3148034)and Danny Bailey; and a brother, Cabel Ayers.

Ruth spent her days being the best and most devoted mother she could be to her children, and in the words of Washington Irving; "the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." As an honor to their mother her children are not quite sure they know how to navigate this big world without Mrs. Ruth, but they promise to live their best lives honoring her life, as she has been the best Mom. In addition to her children, she enjoyed reading a good book and taking a walk.

Left forever with thoughts of Mrs. Ruth in their hearts and minds and cherishing all memories with love are her sons, Jerry Bailey of Pearisburg, VA, and Barry and Lynn Bailey of Alabama; daughter, Peggy and Ronnie Fleeman of Fincastle, VA; grandchildren, Rachel Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Jean Ann Bailey, Angela Tuck, Ethan Jones, Andrew Bailey, and Clayburn Bailey; great-grandchildren, Ashley Sprouse, Bailie Tuck, Samuel Bailey, and Benjamin Bailey; 4 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Carlos and Mary Jo Ayers of Charlottesville, VA; and sister, Lois Ayers Bailey of Rich Creek.

Mrs. Ruth will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 19, 2022 In Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. All are looking forward to the moment where we will get to see Ruth again.

The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Bailey Family.
