Belz, Carol 6/4/1943 - 3/5/2022 Portage Michigan Carol June Belz (Beilby) Age 78, Portage Michigan. Passed away peacefully in her bed with family by her side on Saturday March, 5th 2022. Carol was born June 4th, 1943 in Howell Michigan. She grew up and attended school in Brighton Michigan. She was as social a person as you would ever meet. After graduation she worked at the D & C store in Brighton where she would meet the love of her life Jim Belz. They were married on June 14th, 1964. Jim and Carol had 2 children Jodi (1966) and Eric (1969) were born in Northville Michigan but moved to Imlay City in 1974. Family, Friends and Faith was everything to Carol. She attended every event that her husband and kids ever participated in. Her amazing smile and fun-loving personality shown everywhere she went. She was active in the First Congregational Church and a member of the church choir. She sang locally and even did some stage performances over the years. The love of her life Jim passed away in August of 2009 and she missed him every day. She moved to Kalamazoo in 2016 to be closer to family and became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Richland. Carol has made countless lifelong friends who she shared many amazing adventures with and she always cherished these memories. Preceded in Death by Jim Belz 2009. Survived by sisters: Ilene Mitchell, Joyce(Bill) Hammond, Nancy Kirstenpfad, Daughter Jodi(Dave) Bee and extended family, Son Eric(Cindy) Belz and granddaughters Mackenzie, Sierra, Kaleigh, and Taylor. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 19th, at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church of Richland with visitation from 10:00am until the time of services with a Luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Despite the tolls that health and dementia took on Carol she believed that she was put on this earth to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. As was stated many times "The only friends that Carol didn't have were people she hadn't met yet".
