GARY — Margie Marie Trent, 72, a resident of the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gary, formerly of Iaeger, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 in the center following a long illness.

Margie was born January 2, 1935 in Iaeger, a daughter of the late Arthur and Jane Viars Crouse. She was a homemaker and a member of the Isaban Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, three sisters, Myrtle Robertson, Nora Marsh, and Violette Bailey; and three brothers, Sherman, Levi, and Suel Crouse preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Dewey Trent, Jr., of Iaeger; two daughters, Suzette Cook and husband Timmy of Oceana and Sandra Kay Trent of Iaeger; one son, Mark Wesley Trent, also of Iaeger; two sisters, Mavis Pickelsimer and Bertha Gosche, both of Akron, Ohio; two brothers, George Crouse of Concord, Calif., and Perry Crouse of Clearfork; three grandchildren, Donna Cook of Morgantown, Daniel Cook of Oceana, and Stephen Trent of King, N.C.; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Joshua Cook, both of Oceana.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 28, 2007 at noon with the Reverend Randall Dority and Ron Dalton officiating at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell.

Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening, December 27, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m.
