Erling Lee Peck, age 86, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Erling was born on August 13, 1935 in Manitowoc to the late Leon and Hannah (Mielke) Peck. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953 and then started working for the Manitowoc Company. In 1954, Erling enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Combat Engineer serving the majority of his time in France, obtained the rank of E5, and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1956. Upon his return, Erling resumed working at the Manitowoc Company until he retired as a Senior Field Service Representative in 2001. He travelled the world setting up Manitowoc Cranes. On August 19, 1969, Erling married Sandra Crawford in Lansing, IL. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2021. He enjoyed gardening, photography, travelling with Sandy, sampling beer, and spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren. Erling was a handyman always willing and able to help fix and repair anything. This skill ultimately led to him earning the title of Senior Mechanic at Arbortech Tree Care. Erling was a member of St. Pauls' Ev. Lutheran Church, lifelong member of AMVETS Post 99 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #706.

Survivors include Erling's son, Kerry (Allyson) Peck, Manitowoc; daughter, Kristin (Jeffery) Dittmer, Salem; two grandchildren, Masen and Brycen; two sisters, Germaine Farrell, New Holstein, and Ludene Decker, Shawano; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Hannah Peck; wife, Sandy; brother, Gene; and sister, Carol Krcma.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Following the funeral service, military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by AMVETS Post 99. A luncheon for family and friends will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at Noon. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Erling's name.
