William "Billy" Reid Bucher was born on May 27, 1914, in Douglas, Nebraska, his father, Albert, was 34 and his mother, Mabel, was 32. He married Mary Josephine Carney on January 22, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. To the family he was known as "Cooney" and he was deeply loved by his wife Mary and all their nieces an nephews. He died, prematurely, on April 28, 1962, Long Beach, California, at the age of 47, and is buried in All Souls Cemetery.
