Funeral Of M. A. Nations Held Here Wednesday.

Esteemed Citizen Interred At Topisaw

Service for Martin A. Nations of Brookhaven, one of the town and county's esteemed elder citizens, who died early Tuesday morning in the local hospital were held at Topisaw Baptist church at 11 Wednesday morning. Dr. J. A. Taylor and the Rev. A. Marvin Sanders officiated and the Topisaw Masonic Lodge conducted rites in the Topisaw cemetery where interment was made. A vocal solo was given by Mrs. A. Marvin Sanders,

Mr. Nations, aged 77, had long been in ill health, and his condition was critical for some days before he passed away.

He was a member of the First Baptist church and a Mason.

Courteous and unassuming Mr. Nations had made many friends, and his family and relatives were united with him in bonds of affection.

He and his daughter Miss Blake Nations, secretary of the First Baptist church and a leader in young people's religious activities, made their home on Schwem Avenue.

Mr. Narions leaves three daughters, Mrs. J. V. Myers, and Miss Blake Nations, both of Brookhaven, and Mrs. Bee Nations Garner of New Orleans; and a son Earl Nations of Tuscalooa, Ala.. Other survivors are his step-mother Mrs. Fannie Nations of Brookhaven; brothers, J. C. Nations of Toisaw; H.L. Nations of Jackson; L. O. Nations of Brookhaven; and W. A. Nations of Oak Grove, La. and sisters, W. L. McGraw of Brookhaven and Mrs. W. Hemphill, of Jackson. Half brothers and half sisters are Oliver Nations of Biloxi; Alius Nations of Natchez; Doris Nations of Laurel; Cecil Nations of Sontag; Mrs. Wylie Burch of Bastrop, La.; Mrs. J. W. McGraw of Bogalusa, La.; Mrs. T. N. Butler of Wesson; Mrs. Ophelia White and Miss Ellen Nations, both of Brookhaven,

He leaves 9 grandsons, 2 grabddaughters, 4 great granddaughters and 1 great grandsons.
