Elaine C. Delsman, age 92, of Manitowoc died Wednesday morning March 16, 2022, at Magnolia Meadows Assisted Living in Manitowoc.
The former Elaine Rank was born on July 16, 1929, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late William and Jenny (Jana) Rank. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1947 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On May 25, 1949, Elaine was married to Kenneth J. Delsman at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2015. Elaine worked for Pacific Bell telephone as an operator in California, later worked for Ameritech Telephone Company in Manitowoc and eventually transferring to the Green Bay Telephone Company, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her husband, family, and friends. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Clare Society, Friends of the Library, and the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include her brother: Donald Rank, Manitowoc; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include Ruth Delsman, Whitelaw, David Delsman, Manitowoc, Gwen (Bob) Braun, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Jenny Rank; her husband: Kenneth J. Delsman; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Robert (Jane) Rank, Jeanne Rank; one sister and brother-in-law: Marie (Eugene) Kobke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joseph (Lorraine) Delsman Jr., Howard Delsman, Gladys Delsman, Janice (Hector) Hunt.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi, Grand, 1416 Grand Ave, Manitowoc. The Rev. Ben Johnson will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
