Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Memorials may be made to
American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association. Boyd was born Sept. 21, 1913,
in Davenport, to Herbert and Henrietta (Arps) Schriefer. He married Elizabeth
Adolphi on April 5, 1935, in Davenport. He later married Eula Aller on Oct. 5, 1974,
in Moline. Boyd was a machine operator for French-Hecht for 15 years. He last served
as a bartender at various clubs. Boyd was a member of Moline Eagles Aerie No. 1112,
where he served as past president. He was also past president of the Davenport
Eagles Aerie No. 235. He enjoyed fishing, vegetable and flower gardening. He played
semi-pro baseball in the 1920s and 1930s. He was an avid Hawkeyes and Cubs fan.
Survivors include wife, Eula; sons, Ronald H. (Kay) Schriefer, Moline, and Boyd C.
(Cathy) Schriefer Jr., Lexington; stepdaughter, Mary Jo (Dave) Abrahamson, Clayton,
Mo.; stepson, Paul (Joyce) Aller, Moline; seven grandchildren; six
step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; two
great-great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Schriefer, Geneseo, Ill.; and sister,
Kathleen Stark, Geneseo. He was preceded in death by parents, daughter, Rosalie
Dodge, brothers, Kenneth and G. Vern Schriefer, and sister, Eileen.
