Local Rites Set For Ex-Wichitan

Graveside services for Arden Howard Carpenter, 90, San Antonio, Tex., a former Wichita resident, will be held at 3 p. m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery. The Rev. Jesse Vardaman, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate.

Mr. Carpenter, who left Wichita 12 years ago, had resided in San Antonio more than six years. He was born July 4, 1870. He was a member of Wichita First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. David Barnes, San Antonio; two brothers, Earle B. Carpenter, 401 S. Seneca, and Dr. Mont C. Carpenter, Kansas City, Mo.; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carpenter died Tuesday at his home.

Downing Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
