● 8 railway men in uniform acted as bearers At the funeral yesterday of Mr. Frank William Hexford, for more than 30 years Foreman at Saint James Station, Cheltenham. Who died suddenly at his home Hill View, kidnapper-lane on Monday, while preparing for his holiday. Is the simple service at Cheltenham Cemetery, Conducted by the Rev P. H. Nash, Was attended by about 40 members of the
G. W. R Staff in their uniforms as well as many personal friends. The chief mourners was Mrs. Hexford wife, Mr. and Mrs George Huxford, Mr. and Mrs Frank huxford, Mr. Robert Huxford, Mr. Richard Hexford, sons & daughter-in-law , Mr. and Mrs Woolacot, brother-in-law and sister, Mrs Thomas sister Mr. Alger , Mr. Alan Brothers-in-law, Mrs. Kuhlmann, Miss Bates, These sisters in law miss Crosby niece, Mrs. Carpenter miss Winnie Herbert, Mr. and Mrs J Siford, Mr. And mrs Alsopp, and Mrs. Taylor, friends. The baeres were, Messer, A. Miller, S. Jenkins, C. Barlow, R. Hyde, D. Falconer, J. James, T. Privett, and A Meredith.
Railway officials present included, E. G. Powell ( Station master), Cheltenham G. W. R.,
Mr. L. E. Leverage (former Stationmaster), District inspector J. H. Badham,
Inspecter S. Freeman, Mr. B. G. Compton, and Mr. A. Jones, N. U. R. Secretary.
