DARLINGTON — Funeral services for Essie Jackson Weatherford, 90, were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Darlington Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Weatherford died Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Brian Center in Columbia. She was born in Dillon County, daughter of the late Jasper and Maggie Turbeville Jackson. She was married to the late Elmer J. Weatherford. She was a retired nursing assistant and homemaker and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Surviving are one son, A. Derrick Weatherford Sr. of Latta; three daughters, Hazel Marilyn Rogers of Opp, Ala., Alma Joyce Odom of West Columbia and Eltas Jean Norris of Gallatin, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; 40 great–grandchildren and one great–great–grandchild.

Memorials are suggested to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1620 Malden Drive, Florence, SC 29505
