Donald Ray McDermit, 88, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his residence.

Born on February 22, 1934 in Hartford City, Indiana, Don was the son of Fred and Evelyn (Stewart) McDermit. He was united in marriage to Judy (Estep) McDermit on February 15, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV.

He was a graduate of Hartford City High School in 1954. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a Paving Superintendent at LICA Construction. Don was a 1954 Indiana All-Star Basketball team member, formerly a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, and a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post #49.

Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife Judy McDermit of Warsaw; children Kevin (Deanna) McDermit, Jody (Robert) Kinsey; stepchildren Tom Eherenman, Shawn (Duane) Patterson, and Melanie (Jim) Rooney; 16 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by a stepson Ted Eherenman and one brother Robert J. McDermit.
