Kyrgyz Statesman. He served as the 1st Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from January 21, 1991 to November 29, 1991. He graduated from Moscow Engineering and Construction Institute in 1966 and later worked in the construction industry. In 1969, he joined the Communist Party and later rose through its party ranks. He went on to serve in the government, both as Construction Minister and Vice President. In January of 1991, he became prime minister of the newly formed Republic of Kyrgyzstan.He held this position until November 29, 1991, when he passed away in a car accident. In 2003, a monument in his honor was built in the capital city of Bishkek.
