William C. Ballmann, age 89, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2022.

Bill was born on December 3, 1932 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Charles and Lillian Fischer Ballmann. Bill attended Lincoln High School and graduated with the class of 1950. He then entered the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War. After receiving his honorable discharged he returned to Manitowoc and became employed with Manitowoc Engineering for over 40 years retiring in 1996. On June 14, 1958 he married Carol M. Hoffman at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Bill was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Northeastern Wisconsin Great Lakes Sport Fishing Association. He enjoyed playing cards, duck and deer hunting, fishing on Lake Michigan and Lake Winnebago. Bill also was a volunteer for the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol, three children, Lori (Brian) Schubring, Eagle River, Daniel Ballmann, San Diego, CA, and Dean (Rebecca) Ballmann, Brillion; six grandchildren, Kyle (Brittany) Shady and Jesse (Kyra) Shady, U.S. Air Force, William and Pearce Ballmann, Rachel Schubring and special friend Jackson Bryant and Adam (Ali) Schubring U.S. Navy; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Ballmann, one daughter, Susan Marie Ballmann, and two sisters, Shirley Eucke and LaVerne Weber.

Memorial services will be held 11. a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Jason Blahnik. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88 at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. A luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
