Son of Gardner Howard Niles and Hannah Cole Morse.

His death certificate lists his birthday as 22 December 1853, however, his birth registration lists his birthday as 22 September 1852, therefore that is the birthday on the memorial.

While it's technically possible they could have had children that were "lost" in the 1890 Census fire, there are no known birth records for any children born to these two.

After Georgianna passed in 1908, he then married fellow widower Abbie Ann (Tyler) Wright on 31 August 1912 in Providence, Rhode Island.

He had one full brother, Gardner Bradford Niles, a half-sister, Alvertine/Alberteen Curtis (Richards) Smith Arnold, as well as a half-brother, Charles Bloomer Richards. His two half-siblings were full siblings to each other.

His death certificate lists him to be buried at Riverside Cemetery.
