DeWayne Alden Lachelt

Mr. Lachelt was born July 16, 1931 in Glenwood, Minn. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1978. He was stationed in Nome, Yakutat and Anchorage, Alaska and in Aurora, Colo. He was a building contractor in Durange, Cortez, Montrose, Denver, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, Colo. and Whitefish, Mont. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and Elks. He was a Mason, a member of Newcastle Sportsmen's Club and the First Christan Church.
Mr. Lachelt enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapshooting, and was an ardent defender of the Second Amendment.
Memorial Services will be at 5:30 pm Tuesday, June 29, at First Christian Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. Steve Adamson and the Rev. George Kerales officiating.
A memorial fund has been established in his name. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the DeWayne Lachelt Memorial Fund, First National Bank of Durango, 250 West Ninth Street, Box L, Durango, CO 81301
