Cortlandt Fish. 70, of 11 Collier Drive, Carmel, died,June 8 in Northern Westchester Hospital
Center, Mt Kisco, after a brief illness. He had lived in Putnam County since 1935 and was a real
estate developer and builder. He was born March 22, 1910. in Scarsdale, son of Helen Phelps of
Fresno, Calif., and the late Stephen Bayard Fish.
A descendant of the Pioneer family of Westchester County, he was a former board member of
Putnam Community Hospital-in Carmel, co-owner of the Beekman Country Club in Hopewell Junction, a member of Seven Rivers Country Club in Crystal River, Fla., and a member of St. James the Less Episcopal Church, Scarsdale. He is survived by his wife, Anna Louise Harrison Fish of the home address; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carole Smith of Carmel, Mrs. June Volckhausen of North Salem and Mrs. Anne MacLean of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Blackburn of Fresno; 5 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at St. James the Less Episcopal Church. Burial was in St. James the Less Church Cemetery in Scarsdale. Contributions in his memory may be made to Putnam Community Hospital or to the Putnam County Unit of the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Cargain-Barber Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Ave., Carmel.
