Born in Jackson County, a son of the late Emery E. and Laura Cooper Archer, he was retired employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad having retired in 1961 after almost 47 years of service. Mr. Archer was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bonnie Hill Archer; two sons, Paul D. Archer, Jacksonville, Fla., Charles E. Archer, Lemoore, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert E. (Dorothy A.) Mellon, Belpre; one sister, Mrs. Corinne Davis, Parkersburg, seven grandsons and one granddaughter.
One son, William C. Archer, preceded him in death.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending arrival of Mr. Archer's sons. The Leavitt funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
