Barbara Adele (Hemphill) Henning, 85 of Aurora, Illinois passed away Thursday February 21, 2002 at her home. She was born on December 2, 1916 in Carlinville, Illinois.
Survivors include three children Victoria (Don) Scott, Peter (Jackie) Henning and Sara Hawley; six grandchildren Kristin Berry, James Berry, Katherine Berry, Jana Henning, Louis Henning and Alex Hawley.
Her husband James L. Henning, her parents Victor and Adele Hemphill and a brother, Robert T. Hemphill, preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Wellesley College and Blackburn College and an active member of Child Welfare, The Tuesday Garden Club, PEO Chapter BT, Wesley United Methodist Church, the Waubonsee Literacy Program and the Aurora Foundation.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2002 at 11 AM from Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Tracy Smith Malone officiating. Interment will take place at Little Rock Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2002 from 2-7 PM at The Healy Chapel 332 W. Downer Aurora. Barbara will be lying in state on Monday from 10 AM until the funeral hour at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Wesley Methodist Church, The Aurora Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
