Born July l, 1929 near Central City, Nebraska, he and Kay Mesner had three children: Miriam (Terry) Allison, Brian (Pam, deceased) Mesner, Cheryl (Paul) Mallonee. Following Kay's death in 1999, Neil married Grayce Haworth in 2001. Stepchildren are Sharon Haworth (Peter Lasersohn), David Haworth and Margie Haworth-Davis (Scott).
Also surviving are siblings Helen Casper and Bill (Lil) Mesner; 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Neil was a lifelong farmer both in Nebraska and for 2 years at the Scattergood Friends School in West Branch, IA. He was active in
many Quaker organizations.
Neil was a member of the Central City, NE Friends Church (Quakers) and the Clear Creek Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) in McNabb, IL.
A memorial meeting for Neil will be held Easter Sunday at the Meeting house south of McNabb during the regular meeting for Worship Il to 12. Cremations rites have been accorded and he will be buried in Central City, NE next to his wife of 40 years, Kay Roberts Mesner.
Memorials may go to the American Friends Service Committee or to Doctors Without Borders. Cards may be sent to Grayce H. Mesner
