Mary Sarah Brady, 95, of Chesapeake, passed away with her daughter by her side on January 29, 2022 at Chesapeake Reginal Hospital, in Chesapeake.
Mary was born on September 20, 1926 to Antone and Emily Aguiar in North Tiverton, Rhode Island. Mary was the last surviving of her siblings.
Mary is survived by her son Paul Brady (Nancy), of Hebron, MD and her daughter Pamela Joyner (Joseph), of Chesapeake, VA. Mary is also blessed with 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Murray Brady; her daughter, Eileen Laurent; her parents Antone and Emily Aguiar; 4 brothers, Jesse, Anthony, John & William and 4 sisters, Catherine, Sophie, Irene & Florence.
Mary was married to her husband, Murray for 53 years. They met and married in Rhode Island before traveling to Germany, Georgia and then to Virginia where he was stationed in the navy. They raised 3 kids together.
Mary's heart belonged to her children and grandchildren. She loved spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could. Mary loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. We as a family believe that caring for all the children is what kept her young and active which lead to her long life.
Mary's favorite activity was shopping and going out to eat with family. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, knitting, crocheting and word search puzzles. Mary would always crochet or knit baby booties and sweaters for the new grandchildren. She would also knit or crochet blankets for the family.
Mary is very much loved and will be deeply missed by those who loved her!
A chapel funeral service will be held on Thursday February 3, 2022 at 10am, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA. followed by a short graveside service, where she will be laid rest along with her husband.
