Colonel Robert Home, C.I.E., served in the Royal Engineers of the British Indian Army. He was the son of Maj. General Richard and Frances (Fraser) Home. Married Elizabeth Georgina Elton on January 7, 1868 at Sealkote, Bengal, India. They had eight children.
Col. Home was Inspector-General of the Irrigation of India, and Department Secretary to the Government of India from 1886 to 1889, when he retired. He was made a Companion of the Indian Empire (CIE) for his service.
