George Amos Maynard, 60, died unexpectedly Sept. 15, 2001, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1940, in Dedham, the son of Amos G. and Helena P. (White) Maynard.

George loved to work, owning and operating George A. Maynard General Construction Co., Dedham, for 35 years. He attended the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Ellsworth. He was a member of the Eagles Club Aerie No. 3177, Brewer, the Ralph J. Pollard Masonic Lodge No. 21 7 AF & AM, Orrington, and the Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor. He loved to dance and enjoyed stockcar racing.

George is survived by one daughter and her husband; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; his fiancée and her two daughters, and her four grandchildren; five siblings, John Maynard(deceased), Joan Noyes(deceased), Ruth Maynard(deceased); several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 14 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. James Heard officiating.

Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport
